These Terms of Use govern access to and use of GenFIRE. The app and these terms are currently provided in English.

Operator And Contact

GenFIRE is operated as an individual project based in Malaysia. The operator is a Malaysian with 10 years of finance-sector experience, but is not presented through this app as your licensed financial adviser, tax agent, lawyer, investment manager, or retirement planner. The operator's personal name and residential address are not published in the app. For support, privacy requests, or legal notices, contact genfire.my@gmail.com. These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Malaysia unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Free Malaysia-Focused Calculator

GenFIRE is free to use. It is designed mainly as a Malaysia FIRE calculator, retirement calculator, and financial planning calculator for estimating financial independence timelines, savings needs, FIRE targets, and planning assumptions. Users from other countries may also use it by choosing their own currency and assumptions, but they remain responsible for checking local tax, legal, retirement, and financial rules.

Educational Planning Tool Only

GenFIRE provides educational estimates based on information and assumptions entered by you. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance, retirement, legal, or professional advice. Results are not guarantees and should not be the only basis for financial decisions.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of your inputs, assumptions, decisions, and account security. FIRE and retirement projections can change significantly when assumptions change. Important financial decisions should be reviewed with qualified professionals who understand your full circumstances.

Accounts And Saved Plans

You may use the calculator without an account. If you create an account, GenFIRE may let you save more than one plan and access saved plans across devices. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. You retain ownership of your plan data and grant GenFIRE permission to process it only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

Feedback And Ratings

You may send feedback, questions, bug reports, optional reply email addresses, and optional star ratings. GenFIRE may store this information and email it to the operator using an email provider. By sending feedback, you allow GenFIRE to use it to improve the app, but GenFIRE will not intentionally publish your personal contact details without your consent.

Donations And Stripe Payments

The donation feature is a voluntary one-time support payment processed by Stripe. It does not create an advisory relationship, paid membership, subscription, entitlement to personal advice, or guarantee of future features. Unless stated at checkout or required by law, voluntary donations are generally non-refundable after processing.

Visitor Counts, Analytics, And Admin Metrics

GenFIRE may collect visitor counts and usage events, such as page views, calculator refreshes, signups, logins, feedback submissions, donation clicks, and performance information. These metrics help the operator understand whether the app is working, detect errors, improve the user experience, and maintain an internal admin dashboard.

Acceptable Use

You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with security, upload unlawful content, copy protected parts of the app, or use automated methods that overload the service.

Intellectual Property

The GenFIRE name, logo, interface, text, source code, calculations, and visual design are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the app for personal planning, but no ownership or broader license is transferred to you.

Third-Party Services

The app may use third-party services for hosting, authentication, database storage, payments, email delivery, analytics, OAuth login, and performance measurement. Current or planned providers may include Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Google OAuth, Google Analytics, and Vercel Speed Insights. Those services may have their own terms and privacy notices. GenFIRE is not responsible for third-party websites or products.

Disclaimers And Liability Limits

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GenFIRE disclaims warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. GenFIRE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, tax, legal, retirement, or investment-related losses arising from use of or reliance on the service.

Changes And Termination

GenFIRE may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the service evolves. These terms may also be updated. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. GenFIRE may suspend access where needed to protect the service, prevent misuse, or comply with law.
